Mock Digipak

We were given the task of creating a mock digipak for a made up band or artist. We were given the artist Young Naz at random and this is what we cam up with. Because he genre was grime, we thought we would include images that had that type of vibe. one of the photos we digitally enhanced and altered. This picture can be seen in the bottom left corner, where the artist can be seen to be sitting on the mattress. We liked the idea of adding in abandoned buildings because we believed that it is the perfect setting for this type of genre and artist. This is where we got the idea of adding the image of the mattress in an abandoned building because we liked the feel of the image and how it represents the artist. We then went and found a picture of our artist in a different setting, sitting on exterior stears. We were really fond of this photo because we liked the way he was sitting down on stairs facing the camera. We then decided to Photoshop the two pictures to together, adjusted the lighting so the photo looked realistic and created the final product. This meant that we were able to create the perfect photo of our artist. We wanted to incorporate the abandoned buildings because it gives a sense of curiosity and difference. This is a representation of the artist as grime isnt one of the most popular genres. 

I personally have learnt a lot from this process as it has aloud me to realise that if there inst a perfect picture to use for my digipak i can always incorporate many different photos in one by digitally altering and enhancing them to create the perfect piece that represents and frames the artist well. However, this has also taught me that i need to consider the set of the music video because i can't include locations that are un-realistic and am unable to follow through with including in the music video. This has also taught me that i need to think about the genre and the style the artist is going for in order to create a digipak that successfully represents them. 

This is going to help me in creating my own music video as this activity has taught me about the consideration of many different factors in order to create something successful.
