Initial ideas for my own Music Video

I have many Initial ideas for my music video starting with the song. I was thinking of doing a an upbeat song because I am able to make a happy and up beat video along with it. Making an upbeat video would give me more ideas and shooting potential as there is many different things I am able to do. After considering multiple songs we finally settled on Charli XCX- Famous. This song was perfect for an upbeat music video that has a happy and up lifting vibe. Famous, is a fast tempo song bringing happiness to the target audience enabling us to create a 'party' theme video. The songs lyrics depict 'crashing the party' meaning that we were able to create a party themed music video. This meant that it all linked into our initial ideas about our target audience, having a party themed video and song meant that we had to tailor the video towards our young target audience. When we first listened to the song we had many different ideas with props, locations and settings. We came up with the party as the main story line of the song and then we went off of that and added many different ideas and characters into the story line. We had different ideas for what to add in as fillers for the video as we staring brain storming what to include and we thought we would add in flares. We thought flares were a great idea for video as they were a clear representation of being outrageous and this is a lyric sung in the song, again linking visuals to the song using one of Goodwins theories. While considering what we should include as content for the video we were also considering the theories that we could use. During the brain storming sessions we thought about who to cast for our video, we came up with a sub story line to make the video more interest for our target audience. This was again to match the lyrics of picking them up in her boyfriends car. We thought we would add a love interest to also have a reason for throwing the party so there is a little bit of a back story to why the party is happening.

Through these session we were able to initially find out what we were doing to do for example; instead of setting the party in a club or anywhere else we decided to set the party in a house. We decided to set the party in a house because it fits our target audience as house parties are the type of parties 15-25 year old's have. Completing these brain storming sessions help our group lots as we were able to get all of our ideas down on paper to see if they fit our theme and if they didnt we were able to put them to the side.

At a later date we also brain stormed how to add in more footage of the artist and have the artist the soul focus of the frame. This is when we decided to film with a white screen. We felt this was a good idea as we could have all of the attention on the artist and this also meant that it would give a more 'professional' look as the artist was in high quality and focus.
